BFR Masters Webinar: What’s New in BFR 2021?

This presentation highlights 5 important papers published in 2021 that help BFR providers improve their understanding of the science behind the power of BFR.

This webinar will build your confidence applying BFR training through in depth discussion of studies covering BFR safety screening, whether the amount of applied pressure matters, the degree of muscle activation with different pressures, how BFR can help the chronic atrophic post-surgical patient, and its unique ability to not only induce similar muscle mass as heavy load strength training but also tendinous adaptations.

BFR Masters Webinar: Device Selection: Features of Blood Flow Restriction Cuffs and Their Potential Impact on Practice (2024)

Blood flow restriction (BFR) training is reaching mainstream due to the large amount of research supporting its use in rehabilitating injuries or accelerating performance and recovery in healthy and injured individuals. However, due to the unique stress of BFR, there exists uncertainty on how to perform an effective and time-sensitive medical screening prior to beginning BFR to reduce risk of adverse events. Similarly, due to the vast options available for purchase for the physical therapist, questions arise on what type of BFR training device may be recommended for different practice settings.

This 2 hour course will focus on highlighting recent publications aimed at simplifying pre-participation BFR training and provide a general overview of the different types of ways that BFR can be applied in rehabilitation practices. We will also provide guidance on application strategies/device features to further enhance safety while still achieving desired outcomes in a longitudinal training program.
